Our story

YUNMI was founded by the couple Rex Yu and Demi Lin in 2020.

Rex Yu originally worked in product design in Taiwan. In 2013, he moved to Perth, Australia, where he met his wife, Demi Lin. Due to language barriers, he initially worked as a bus person in a restaurant. When COVID-19 struck and the restaurant closed, he lost his job. Encouraged by his wife, he decided to attend carpentry school, eventually becoming a carpenter.

In 2019, they welcomed a new addition to their family. Their child was born two months prematurely and was extremely low birth weight. Knowing that preterm babies often face developmental challenges, they were determined to do everything possible to support their child's growth. With skills in product design and carpentry, Rex and Demi decided to create YUNMI, focusing on Montessori furniture for children. They hoped this would not only aid their child's development but also allow them more time to spend together as a family.

We focus on every detail and prioritize the safety of children using our products. All our products had been testing for over 1 year before being released. We provide the best furniture for children.
